Quebec's Kim Clavel pleased her supporters in Shawinigan on Saturday evening by winning by a unanimous decision of the judges.
The 28-year-old athlete, still undefeated in nine fights (9-0, 2 KW), had the upper hand from start to finish against Mexican Nora Cardoza (14-7-2, 6 KW) thanks to her surgical precision.
"I saw everything and I admit I was surprised by her physical condition, she followed me during the eight rounds, she's really in good shape," Clavel told TVA Sports after her fight.
Even though Clavel was facing an experienced boxer, aged 36, she dictated the pace of the fight and she was never shaken.
"I tried to touch without being touched, I didn't want to force anything," she continued. I'm proud of my performance, I'm happy."
It was already a fourth fight in 2019 for the Montrealer and a third in three months. She will now take a few weeks off to come back in force in the fall.
